Elaina Meiners

Elaina, Kevin’s mother, has an expansive management career in manufacturing. She and her husband, Bud, have five children and nine grandchildren. Together, they enjoy spending time with their family and, of course, watching their children and grandchildren play baseball. Kevin was the youngest of their children, and losing him has been profound for their family.

She loved watching Kevin play baseball and couldn’t have been prouder of the man he was becoming– both on and off the field. She attended his games and tournaments since he began playing baseball at the age of four. Elaina continues to be part of the baseball community through our organization, stating, “the foundation has provided a new sense of purpose to honor Kevin and his memory by helping other players and families through scholarships.”

Bud Meiners

Bud is Kevin’s stepfather and cofounder of our organization. He is also a long-time resident of St. Charles and owner-operator of Meiners Marketing Group, an industrial parts sales company. Bud is a quintessential family man who loves spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Watching Kevin grow from a boy into an esteemed young man was a wonderful time in his life. He has many incredible memories of watching Kevin play ball, which he will forever hold dear. Bud wants other families to be able to make these same types of memories together. Through his efforts, he hopes to make baseball accessible to more families. He is truly honored to be part of the foundation and looks forward to helping young people with a passion for the game.

A Word from Kevin’s Parents

“Kevin was a giver, and we want to continue his legacy of helping others by doing what he loved most—playing baseball. Your support will help us assist those who otherwise may not be able to experience that same love for baseball.

We want to honor Kevin’s memory by providing other players and families with scholarships for both travel and college education. We are truly thankful and humbled for all the love and support that has made this foundation possible.”
